SUMMARY:Swedish Vallhund Program
DESCRIPTION:Sons of Norway- Mandt Lodge invites the public to a program on "Swedish Vallhunds: A "Short" History" by Matt Hennek.\n\n\n\nThe presentation will be at Sons of Norway\, 317 South Page Street\, in Stoughton\, on Wednesday\, August 13\, at 7:00 PM.\n\n\n\nThe Swedish Vallhund is an ancient breed of herding dogs known since the time of the Vikings. They are a high energy all-purpose farm dog that are known to have a "big dog in a small body". They are loyal\, friendly\, and active dogs that excel at anything from herding to dog shows to tracking to agility to obedience. We will examine the breed's history\, it's current form\, how it has adapted to modern life\, and where its future may go. Matt Hennek and his wife Jacquelyn have been raising and competing with Swedish Vallhunds since 2020. His Vallhunds (3) have competed and excelled in both sports and show\, gaining champion and grand champion titles. He currently owns the #1 ranked Swedish Vallhund in the US which has won Best of Breed in 2024 and 2025 at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club. He is a founding life member of the Mid Atlantic Swedish Vallhund League and a member of the Swedish Vallhund Club of America.\n\n\n\nRefreshments will be served! Everyone is welcome and no reservations are needed!\n\n\n\nPlease contact Darlene Arneson at arnesonfamily5@gmail.com or 608-873-7209 for more information.\n\n\n\nMandt Lodge is handicapped accessible with a lift located on the south side of the building. There is parking on the street\, public parking lot behind the Stoughton Senior Center\, or in the Livsreise parking lot if their building is closed. We always encourage you to bring donations for the Stoughton Food Pantry! The public is always welcome at Mandt Lodge!
